All of Lance and JaNae's images are finally ready. They are meeting up with us this Friday, we hope they like them. They were such a fun bunch to capture. It helps that they both are gorgeous too!
After a crazy weekend at the Sunrise Mall Bridal Show (sponsored by AFWPI) we booked a few photobooth friday fanatics. Kim will be getting married at Arden Hills and they are excited about having our photobooth there, we are excited too! We can't wait for Jenna and Christina's photobooth events as well!
It has been an interesting wedding season. With a bunch of new faces, people, places...we are totally excited about the new adventurous future. We promise to at least catch up on the blogs. Heres a random bunch of images from the last month.
Profinish Design Videography had the pleasure to serve Nicole and Elliott on their lovely wedding at David Giard Vineyards on Saturday. We Met some great vendors like photographer Anne Mask. Videographer Travis says, "Working with great vendors like Anne make my job of getting the best footage so much smoother." We were able to take a couple of cool photographs while at the event.
We recently updated the website to make it cooler...or maybe alittle hotter. It's a little Darth Vader-ish. But I guess you could say we would be the bazzaro world of the "The Memory Journalists" in colors. I think it looks good, we are still waiting to update the site again by September so keep your eyes open.
We were lucky to attend the HOTTEST wedding of the year! Claudia and Martin were married at Maidu Community Center in Roseville and it was HOT! 100 degrees outdoor weather hot...and they were gorgeous hot as well. We were all melting...by the end of the day we were just a big gob of Profinish Design goop. As long as the photos and video turns out well it is all worth it. Here are a few teasers.
When our recently engaged lead videographer wanted something different from the typical engagement session and wanted something "sexy" and "edgy", at least something that other people would look at and say, "dang! look at that!" there was only one place to go to take photographs at, LAS VEGAS BABY! We didn't want to get to crazy though, so nobody got naked but Travis was all game. Just wanted something presentable and edgy.
We took a short flight to Las Vegas for an engagement shoot and what's photographed in Las Vegas, doesn't stay in Las Vegas!
Lead photographer John had the opportunity to be somebody else than just an wedding photographer. John says, "photography blah, I want to try something with more action..." He was a sports photographer! With a photographer's press pass around his neck, he was able to watch almost all of the Sacramento's Capitals tennis at the Westfield Galleria mall and capture some great tennis...loving every minute. Representing The Rocklin Park Hotel and Spa (Profinish Design being their preferred wedding photo and video vendor) got a chance to create a collage for the the Hotel and Spas lobby. BTW, the capitals won the championship last sunday with Slammin Sammy and Elena representing...
John says, "Those other photographers out there were pretty nice guys. One was from Raley's supermarket and another an agent for all state insurance. Its nice to see other peoples passion for photography, makes me see how lucky I am to do it full time."
We saw a friend of ours one night recording some video on the tennis court...
Eric from Acti-Video was walking around and John had a chance to snap a couple photos of him on the floor. He was there to create a video for the team. Great guy, he plays a big role in the development of event video in the Sacramento area.
(John is a big tennis guy. Playing #1 in high school for 3 years, #4 in Junior college, and winning second place intramurals at UC Davis. He says it was a joy for him to watch world team tennis.)
We just finished up Lance and JaNae video slideshow the other day. They are soooo cute together! One is really crazy and the other is the foundation. I'm not going to tell you which one is which, you take a guess...
They are getting married August 25th at the Sunset Whitney Golf Resort in Rocklin...perfect finally someplace close to our home studio!
BONNIE & CLYDE...in this case (Clyde and Bonnie)...we had to put this up on our blog, we just had too...
Sarah Dawson had the pleasure of servicing Anne-Marie and Justin during their wedding. Located at a quaint place in Davis, the private wedding was beautiful. Sarah says, "it looked like Justin was going to hurl at any given time. In fact after taking photos of the groomsmen, Anne-Marie asked if he had puked or not." (There was no puking and the tuxedo in the image below was never harmed or puked on, in any way.)
What was even more special about the day is that Anne-Marie has an 8 year old daughter who Justin adopted during their own little ceremony during the event. He presented her with a necklace that was just as cute as she was.
Alotta people got married that day. All the photographers we know were working today.
While Sarah was out shooting Anne-Maries wedding and Jeremy away on vacation, John was fortunate to attend 2 weddings that day. Both relatives one on his mothers side and other other the fathers side. What did he do? HE WENT TO BOTH! And...of course he brought his camera. Here is one in San Jose. John says, "it was interesting to watch another photographer do his thing."
John says, "I've been too one too many asian weddings. Theres always a crazy aunt or sister or cousin...and in this family that crazy cousin is me."
The new standard in Videography. High Definition. Lets face it. Its going to be here, so why not now, and why not for weddings we say.
Travis Allen our lead videographer with a support team of Arty Flores and Matt Stevens plan on starting a new revolution in HD videos for events and weddings. Under Profinish Design's creative supervision, the are going to ROCK!
For example feel free to call our studio number 916-760-1499 and Travis will simply mail you his demo or show you Profinish Design Video demos personally. After all, capturing an event or wedding is about being personal.
Literally the biggest wedding of the season...biggest. Will Smith, Tom Cruise,..David Beckham and Posh...
Well close to that anyway. The big 800 wedding went on its way and man oh man...awesome. There was alot of singing, dancing in HIGH heels, picture taking, with alot more of that happening all day. There was alot of stuff...alot. Did I mention there was alot of stuff going on?
We had the whole team down there doing their thing. From Travis and the video guys catching footage of the tea ceremonies to Sarah running around in Old Sacramento to John party favor photoing it up. What a night!
Johnny and Rosie are so much fun. Rosie being Vietnamese and Johnny Chinese-Vietnamese, they had to do it the traditional style. Vietnamese-Chinese tradition ain't no joking around. From not looking back after walking out the door at the tea ceremony to gifts of gold from the Chinese side of the family to a huge dragon dance at the reception itself. You gotta know your stuff when it comes to photographing it or else you'll miss the cabbage toss in the dragon mouth for gold. (just kidding theres none of that, but there was cabbage and there was gold.) Rosie was soooo exhausted from just the tea ceremonies alone we had to postpone our shoot in old sacramento, which gave us only about 20 minutes of setup and shoot time. How they turn out? Not so bad...
Our event painter did a great job as well. Sarma K. graduated with a MFA in art and is wonderful to work with, we love her being apart of our team. She adds input and gives a valuable 2 cents in the creative part of event painting. Here portofolio will be up as soon as the new website comes together and she'll definitely be working alot more with Profinish Design's Original Event Painters.
