Event Painting

Here is a 30x40 Canvas that John painted at an event. Its of a wedding the Ryde hotel.

We paint in 2 different ways. Palette Knife painting or Color under line painting. This one is Color under line, basically meaning that the forms and shapes are drawn to your eyes by the lines outlining them...hmm...how interesting. John started painting in this style since college. The other style (Palette Knife) is more textured and abstract (as seen in the America's Party Rental Grand Opening).

John says, "It hard to paint any other way especially photo realistic. With the 3-5 hours given, you gotta to concentrate on impressionistic."

It hasn't been that long now...ok maybe it has.

Wa Wa We Wa. So the last month has been a killer for us. Work. Work. Work. Or is it Play, Play, Play?

We all love what we do here at Profinish Design and we hope it shows in our images.

Now that things are slowing down and the wedding season has ended for us, we definitely have to let you all catch up on our work.

Next year we are working on alot of new and exciting stuff. New lighting techniques, new angles, new preferred vendors, and new goals to reach.

So what have we been up too for the past month? You gotta see for yourself, we'll just drown you in photos. Enjoy.

America's Party Rental: Grand Opening

Heather and her husband decided to go all out and have an awesome grand opening. They invited all the vendors around the area and we happy to provide photography, videography, and event painting. There were some awesome bands, a hooka pipe smoking thing, and drinky's all around. http://www.americaspartyrental.com/

Gerard and Katie: Walnut Grove at The Ryde Hotel

It rained! But it didn't affect anything. Katie and Gerard were married this on the 10th and now they are on their 3 week honeymoon...3 WEEKS! How cool. Sarah was the lead photographer for their wedding, did an awesome job while John was the event painter. It was a pleasure to be there to hang out with them. We are so luck to capture such beautiful people on photographs.

Carla and George
: Placerville at Sequoia

What a great couple and family! They are so full of life and energy, it filled the room. We had to watch out for the "love potion drink" they had at the bar. Jeremy and John were their photographers while Travis and Matt were busy creating art with their videography.

Our new Preferred Vendor - Mike Regan: Mr D.J. Service

Mike rocks. He's been in the industry for 18 years and the guy knows what hes doing. His microphone is awesome. And pictured below is his invisible audio system on the cart. j/k http://www.mrdjservice.com/

SAVE THE DATE: Kim and Travis - May 17th 2008

Kim and Travis..finally getting married. John thinks he'll probably be the Photographer, Photobooth Attendant, Event Painter, Wedding Planner, Videographer, and MC. Kim is John's little sister! She's got him Pro-bono.

Joe and Mandy
: Roseville at Whitney Oaks Country Club
Sarah and John had a Blast at this wedding. Its nice to show images of somebody other than the bride and groom all the time. Here are the cool dads. What a event! There was singing and jumping...the whole bridal party was up for everything and we love that.

At the Ferris Wheel
: Roseville - October
We had a two couples we we shot at the Carnival in Roseville. It was a small Carnival, but it turned out very nicely.

Nicole and Elliott

Profinish Design Videography had the pleasure to serve Nicole and Elliott on their lovely wedding at David Giard Vineyards on Saturday. We Met some great vendors like photographer Anne Mask. Videographer Travis says, "Working with great vendors like Anne make my job of getting the best footage so much smoother." We were able to take a couple of cool photographs while at the event.

WEBSITE UPDATE.

We recently updated the website to make it cooler...or maybe alittle hotter. It's a little Darth Vader-ish. But I guess you could say we would be the bazzaro world of the "The Memory Journalists" in colors. I think it looks good, we are still waiting to update the site again by September so keep your eyes open.

Tell us what you think!

More to come...Claudia and Martin

We were lucky to attend the HOTTEST wedding of the year! Claudia and Martin were married at Maidu Community Center in Roseville and it was HOT! 100 degrees outdoor weather hot...and they were gorgeous hot as well. We were all melting...by the end of the day we were just a big gob of Profinish Design goop. As long as the photos and video turns out well it is all worth it. Here are a few teasers.
