The Big Bossman's Birthday

Lead Photographer John Vu spend his big 30 today having his wife blindfold him and dragging him around town. With a first unexpected stop at the nail salon for a...pedicure. Below are John's ugly feet in Profinish Design colors. The next stop was Fry's electronics for a new wacom tablet (he always wanted a bigger one). After that it was dinner at the good old Firehouse Restaurant for that Steak and dessert to top it off. With a handful of close friends and homemade snickerdoodles cookies he says, "What more could I ask for...well maybe a new lens..."

Time flys by doesn't it?

3 years ago, Lead Photographer John Vu had the pleasure of serving Michelle and Tim Guerra during their wedding. He recently received an email about their NEW BABY! He says, "Its weird that all my friends who were past clients are having babies! Time really flies...I'm getting old..or I say not so young anymore".

One of Michelle's bridesmaids, Carly was recently married this year in February and Profinish Design was there to capture it all. We are definitely lucky to work with such photogenic people.
One of Carly's bridesmaids will also be using us for her wedding on July 7th as well. Heading off the team will be Lead Photographer Sarah Dawson and Staff Photographer Jeremy Moore. It's gonna be a good one.

If the Turkey Leg Photography starts getting popular, we might just stop photographing wedding and events...who knows...

Profinish Design's Lead Photographer Sarah Dawson

Sarah was choosen out of 28 photographers who submitted their photography portfolio. Having a great eye is one of the most important skills a professional photographer needs, without that, well...you just don't get professional photography. The technical can be taught, the business side of event photography is gained by experience, but that eye...you just gotta have it. Sarah Dawson definitely has the eye.

As a amateur photographer before joining Profinish Design, she had a few events under her belt and did alot of senior portraits. Fast forward over a year later and now she has a outstanding Profinish Design Portifolio, has shot as a Staff and Lead Photographer for a number of weddings, and has received some great recognition even outside of her event photography.

Have you ever seen the images on Jones Soda?

We just found out that Sarah has not 1...not 2...not even 4...but FIVE of her images on random flavors of Jones soda...HOW COOL! With Jones soda receiving over 100,000 images a month and picking out 24, Sarah has 5 out there....if i do my math correctly..(thats 5 divided by...over the square root of...to the third power of...)...thats PRETTY DARN GOOD.

Congrats SARAH!

Profinish Design's Staff Photographer Jeremy Moore

Jeremy Moore the latest addition to Profinish Design has a background in Digital Media. With alot of landscape photography from his travels around the world he comes with with a great eye for framing the perfect image. As a new team member he has been trying to soak in as much as he can with our new techniques for this season. He will be shooting as a second or third staff photographer while he builds his Profinish Design Portfolio and will later be available for his own lead weddings. Though we primarily shoot Nikon, he is a Canon shooter...and it looks like we are going to be diverse in both...we always wanted a Canon anyway...

Jeremy says, "I plan to stay with Profinish Design for the long run and then to maybe rule the world."

He's a perfect fit.

When the Photographer gets married...

You never really know what has to be done for a wedding until you actually get married yourself. Lead Photographer John Vu was married last year at Saint Francis Church in downtown Sacramento and says, "All these years shooting weddings and I never knew that it took THAT long to tie a bow tie ." Yup, theres alot more to a wedding than lighting, posing, and angles...there's all that other stuff. And who shot his wedding? Profinish Design of course! (2nd photo credit Amber Silva) Lead Photographer Sarah Dawson moved from being a staff photographer and hasn't looked back since. With a number of wedding under her belt, she has perfected a unique style that makes her Profinish Design images different. With a busy schedule ahead, all of her weekends for the next few months are booked and on top of that...shes gettting married herself...NEXT MONTH! Here are some of here pics from her engagement to Robert.
